Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nick Lewis (ranked 4596 p4p, 4514 weight class) and Cole Kiter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cole Kiter has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nick Lewis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Cole Kiter!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Gregory Folan and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lewis keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Lewis avoids the body shot from Kiter.
It looked like Lewis wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Lewis bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Kiter is trying to escape the position but Lewis is controlling the position.
Lewis wants to stand but Kiter has his arm trapped.
Lewis content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lewis is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Kiter is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Kiter tries to bench press Lewis off him but Lewis keeps the position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lewis remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Kiter wants to control but Lewis postures up.

Lewis knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kiter on the ground.
Lewis looks up at the clock and then as Kiter takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Lewis smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

A lull in the action here as Lewis stalls from top position.
Lewis seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Kiter for as long as he can get away with.
Kiter is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Lewis works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

Lewis tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Kiter is trying to escape the mount.
Kiter is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Lewis sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Nick Lewis dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Kiter keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Lewis.
Kiter tries to clinch up but Lewis circles away and keeps his distance.

Lewis clinches up with Kiter and pushes him back against the cage.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Lewis has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Kiter after a bit of a struggle.
Lewis tries to pull guard but Kiter holds him up against the cage and eventually Lewis drops back down to his feet.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Kiter just misses with a elbow thrown towards Lewis's brow.

Lewis is trying to trip Kiter. He has hold of a leg but Kiter is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Lewis persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Kiter has a closed guard, preventing Lewis from standing up.
Lewis sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Lewis continues to stall.
Lewis landing some decent shots from guard.

Lewis has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Kiter to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Lewis is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Kiter pulls down on the head and he's put Lewis to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:24 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Cole Kiter!
