PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sammy Beach (ranked 296 p4p, 487 weight class) and Tomomisan Tsuruta (ranked 38 p4p, 70 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

With a record of 19 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sammy Beach!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 13 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Tomomisan Tsuruta!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Percy O'Donnell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tsuruta circles away from the clinch attempt.
Tsuruta cracks Beach with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Tsuruta darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Tsuruta not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Tsuruta is pressing down on Beach's thigh, looking to free his foot. Beach is holding on for now.
Tsuruta throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Beach has one foot on Tsuruta's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

It looks like Tomomisan Tsuruta has been cut.
Beach is looking to wear down Tsuruta with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Beach is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Tsuruta.

Clinched against the cage, Beach lands a big elbow that drops Tsuruta! The ref dives in to save him from more shots - Tsuruta is complaining that he's OK but he was done.

Sammy Beach gave a mention to FUClothing in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
