Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 31 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Captain Gonza!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Holden Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Percy O'Donnell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie swats away the attempt to clinch by Gonza.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Gracie! But no joy.
Gonza feints and as Gracie raises his hands in defense, Gonza changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Gonza postures up in Gracie's guard and throws a big left but Gracie blocks it.
Gracie wants to sweep here but Gonza controlling him for the moment.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Gracie holds on and takes a little breather.
Gonza seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Gracie throws a hook to the side of Gonza's head but Gonza sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Gracie gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Gonza to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Gracie is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Holden Gracie is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Gracie throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
A swing and a miss from Gracie.
The fight stays on the outside here - Gracie looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Gonza closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Captain Gonza dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Gonza blocks a head kick by Gracie.
Good shot there by Gracie.
Gracie lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Gonza circles away quickly and effectively.
Gonza has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Gracie finds it's way round the side to connect with Gonza's head.
Gracie tries to close the distance and clinch but Gonza swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Gracie scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Gonza doesn't seem bothered though.

Gonza shoots in for a takedown but Gracie shows good takedown defense.
Gonza takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Gracie rushes Gonza and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Gracie's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

and Gonza counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
The fighters circle momentarily. Gracie darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Holden Gracie seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Gracie looks to land a left hand but Gonza moved out of range nicely.

Gonza escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Captain Gonza is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Gonza misses with a takedown attempt - Gracie sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Oh Gonza is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Gracie lands a brutal uppercut that launches Gonza off his feet! Gonza tumbles to the floor, barely conscious - the referee jumps in to save him from a beating! Wow, what an ending!
