Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Reggie Barnes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Osiris Maharajah!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Jonathan Paton and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maharajah tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Maharajah looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
The fighters circle momentarily. Maharajah darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Maharajah tries to clinch but Barnes moves out of range.
Barnes throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Maharajah tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Barnes takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Maharajah loads up on a big right hand but Barnes slips the punch.
Maharajah works the jab nicely.
Barnes misses with a two punch combination.
Maharajah misses with a hook to the body
and Barnes counters with an inside leg kick.
Barnes throws a right and a left that both miss.
A telegraphed right hand from Maharajah misses the target.
Maharajah tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Barnes was well out of range. Poor timing from Maharajah.
Maharajah fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Barnes looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A looping hook to the body misses from Maharajah. Barnes does a little dance to reset his feet.

Maharajah closes the distance and clinches.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Maharajah can't find room to land a body shot as Barnes controls the action.
Maharajah jumps guard but Barnes stands there with Maharajah around his waist. Maharajah gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Barnes blocks an uppercut.
Barnes tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Barnes breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Barnes throws a low kick, looking for Maharajah's leg but Maharajah calmly moves out of range.
Maharajah doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.

Maharajah instigates a clinch.
Maharajah misses with a hook from the clinch.
Barnes has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Barnes manages to break the clinch.
Maharajah displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Barnes throws out the jab.
Barnes misses with a double jab
and Maharajah counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Maharajah misses with a hook.
Maharajah jabbing away but nothing is landing.
It looked like Barnes was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
A telegraphed right hand from Maharajah misses the target.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Barnes will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Maharajah takes a swing at Barnes's ribcage but misses.
Maharajah jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Barnes is looking to land body kicks.
Maharajah lands with a straight right. Barnes didn't see that one coming.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Barnes throws an overhand right that lands on Maharajah's shoulder, as Maharajah tries to avoid the shot.

Maharajah looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Maharajah lands strikes from half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Maharajah thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Maharajah with the ground and pound but Barnes uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Maharajah stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Barnes swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Maharajah is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Maharajah looking to sit in guard and control but Barnes gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.


Barnes stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Maharajah throws up his legs and catches Barnes in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Barnes tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Maharajah! That came out of nowhere!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Osiris Maharajah!
