Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vitali Kersikov I I (ranked 2475 p4p, 2060 weight class) and Pinina Zhikova (ranked 325 p4p, 273 weight class). Kersikov I I's entrance music is Sefa & Mr. Ivex - LSD Problem. A fine choice. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Pinina Zhikova!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Steven Brown and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zhikova fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kersikov I I avoids it really well and circles away.
Zhikova steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Kersikov I I. That one must have hurt.
Kersikov I I has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Pinina Zhikova seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Kersikov I I, as that shot connected.
Zhikova on the wrong end of a nice hook.

Zhikova throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kersikov I I's waist but Kersikov I I gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Zhikova off to one side.

Vitali Kersikov I I has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pinina Zhikova.

Zhikova is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Kersikov I I is just riding it out for now. Zhikova eventually gives up the hold.
Zhikova wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kersikov I I keeps working.

Zhikova is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Kersikov I I doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Zhikova.

Zhikova is looking to take a break and control but Kersikov I I is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Zhikova goes for a double leg but Kersikov I I avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Kersikov I I continues to drive forward.

Kersikov I I is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

and Kersikov I I counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
A nice leg kick lands there from Kersikov I I.
Zhikova tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kersikov I I sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Zhikova somewhat.
A quick step to the side and Kersikov I I tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

Zhikova takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Zhikova looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kersikov I I is fending him off so far but Zhikova persists. Nope, Kersikov I I circles away and we're back to standing.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Kersikov I I buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Kersikov I I sends Zhikova crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Kersikov I I is motioning to the referee to let Zhikova up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Kersikov I I stuffs the takedown.
Kersikov I I throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Kersikov I I drops Zhikova with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Zhikova looks back up at him and smiles so Kersikov I I waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Zhikova is rocked!
Kersikov I I lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Zhikova is still on wobbly legs! Can Kersikov I I finish him?
Kersikov I I explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Kersikov I I lands a leg kick that knocks Zhikova off balance momentarily.
Kersikov I I fakes the body blow, causing Zhikova to drop his hands! Left hook to the temple! Zhikova goes stiff, and falls face first into the mat. Goodnight!
