Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Barbosa (ranked 458 p4p, 617 weight class) and Thorvald Nansen (ranked 64 p4p, 92 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Nansen's choice of entrance music: Benny Jamz - Torden. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

With a record of 13 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Thorvald Nansen!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Steven Brown and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nansen ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Nansen tries to clinch but Barbosa is having none of it.
Barbosa looks to score with a jab to the body but Nansen is just out of range.
Nansen flicks out a counter leg kick but Barbosa steps away.
Nansen connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Barbosa's hands.

Barbosa's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Nansen connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Barbosa scrambles back to his feet.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Nansen has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
