The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Goddard fails to land the takedown.

We've been told by Lahey's head coaches at Mystic Gym of the Outworld that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Goddard fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Lahey avoids it really well and circles away.
Jim Lahey has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Magnus Goddard.

Goddard tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Lahey manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Goddard has Lahey pressed up against the ropes and is working for takedown. Lahey manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

With the fighters clinched against the ropes, Lahey creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Lahey lands an uppercut in the clinch that drops Goddard to his knees! Lahey keeps firing more shots against his stricken opponent and the referee jumps in to save him!
