Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Magomed Mihailov (ranked 4366 p4p, 3663 weight class) and Magomed Kharimvotrik (ranked 532 p4p, 450 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mihailov throws a big shot that misses.
Kharimvotrik tries to clinch up but Mihailov circles away and keeps his distance.
Mihailov was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

A decent looking cross lands there for Mihailov.

Mihailov clinches with his opponent.
Kharimvotrik tries to stall but Mihailov uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Kharimvotrik jumps guard but Mihailov turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kharimvotrik jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Mihailov walks away with a smile on his face. Kharimvotrik gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Mihailov closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Kharimvotrik to the mat! Kharimvotrik manages to get full guard.

Mihailov is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Mihailov looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Kharimvotrik with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Mihailov lands a nice short elbow.

Kharimvotrik makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Kharimvotrik closes the distance and clinches up with Mihailov, looking for a takedown. Kharimvotrik pushes Mihailov against the cage but Mihailov circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Mihailov is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Kharimvotrik can't fight it off and eventually Mihailov manages to take the fight to the floor. Kharimvotrik looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Kharimvotrik is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Mihailov dives into side control.

Kharimvotrik is trying to improve his position.
Mihailov remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Mihailov cracks Kharimvotrik with a big right hand but Kharimvotrik just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Mihailov has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Mihailov knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kharimvotrik on the ground.

Kharimvotrik is rocked!

Mihailov is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Kharimvotrik can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Mihailov loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Kharimvotrik scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Mihailov land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Mihailov stands and salutes the crowd.
