Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alex Peter (ranked 4643 p4p, 4087 weight class) and Tayaen Porfirigo (ranked 520 p4p, 485 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alex Peter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tayaen Porfirigo!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Steve Erwin and Ben Watson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Peter has closed the distance and engaged Porfirigo in a clinch.
Porfirigo throws a knee to the head but misses.
Peter tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Peter taking a breather.
Porfirigo has Peter pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Peter manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Peter tries to stall but Porfirigo uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Peter misses with some punches.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Peter can't seem to implement his control oriented gameplan at the moment. That's no bad thing of course, for those of us who want to see a good fight.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Alex Peter.

Porfirigo is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Peter has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Peter is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Porfirigo knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Peter has control of Porfirigo's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Porfirigo regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Porfirigo is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Peter pulls his head out easily.

Porfirigo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Peter. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Porfirigo tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Peter wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Porfirigo is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Peter off and has taken his back!

You can see the frustration on Peter's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Porfirigo looking to break Peter's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Peter remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Porfirigo will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Peter is on top in guard.

That was a close second round but I would say that Alex Peter will probably get the nod.

Peter escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Porfirigo gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Peter has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Porfirigo can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Peter closes the distance and clinches.
Peter is pressed up against the cage. Porfirigo has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Peter down to the mat. Peter avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Peter is looking to chop away at Porfirigo's legs.

Peter has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Alex Peter.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Peter, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
