Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jules Sirne (ranked 3301 p4p, 3292 weight class) and Bruzor Szalai (ranked 42 p4p, 41 weight class). Jules Sirne could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Bruzor Szalai's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jules Sirne!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bruzor Szalai!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Steve Smith and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sirne takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
We've been hearing reports that Sirne has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Szalai fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Sirne on the side of the head.

Sirne gets a takedown into half guard.
Szalai is looking for a sweep. Sirne is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Sirne throwing shots but Szalai is blocking nicely.
Sirne content to control rather than advance.
Szalai wants to sweep but Sirne has passed to side control!
Sirne throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Szalai felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Sirne working the ground and pound but Szalai is defending the strikes.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sirne misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Szalai is looking to regain half guard here but Sirne keeps moving and retains side control.
Sirne cracks Szalai with a big elbow.
Sirne trying to control the position but Szalai is working away.

The ground and pound from Sirne seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Szalai tries to bench press Sirne off him but Sirne keeps the position.
Sirne is working Szalai over with some ground and pound from side control.
Sirne postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Szalai is working to avoid the ground and pound but Sirne connects with a decent elbow.
You can see the frustration on Szalai's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Sirne creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Sirne wants to control but Szalai is keeping him busy.
Szalai parries the strikes from Sirne easily there. Sirne is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Szalai to escape.

Szalai is trying to improve his position.
Sirne has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
A lull in the action here.
Szalai is looking for a sweep.
Szalai wants to control but Sirne postures up.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Szalai tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Sirne grinds an elbow into Szalai's temple.
Sloppy strikes there by Sirne.
Szalai takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Szalai avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Sirne.
Sirne is putting a hurting on Szalai here, landing some big shots from side control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Szalai is trying to control Sirne's posture but Sirne avoids it.
Sirne cracks Szalai with an elbow. That is naaassty.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Jules Sirne dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.


Sirne shoots in and gets a takedown into Szalai's guard.
Szalai is pulling down on Sirne's head to control his posture.

Sirne is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Szalai can do to turn this around?

Sirne makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Sirne might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Szalai has Sirne pulled in close to control his posture.
Sirne loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Sirne content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Sirne wants to control from the top but Szalai keeps moving.
Bruzor Szalai has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Sirne tries to free his leg and advance position but Szalai is retaining full guard.
Sirne slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Szalai jabs at Sirne's body.

Szalai gets tackled into the cage by Sirne. Sirne maintains the clinch.
Szalai doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Sirne breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Szalai slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Sirne fails with the takedown
and Szalai counters with a stiff right hand.
Szalai keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Sirne takes a jab right on the kisser.
Sirne drops his hands momentarily. Szalai doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Sirne staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Sirne doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Bruzor Szalai!
