Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Robbie Shewmaker (ranked 2010 p4p, 2633 weight class) and Jonathan St Pierre (ranked 282 p4p, 353 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Robbie Shewmaker!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jonathan St Pierre!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Shewmaker.
Shewmaker throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Shewmaker fails with the takedown.
Shewmaker goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
It looks like Jonathan St Pierre has been cut.
Shewmaker closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Shewmaker lands in his opponent's guard.
Shewmaker got a little sloppy there for a moment and St Pierre has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Shewmaker has managed to get both his arms back between St Pierre's legs - danger averted.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Shewmaker stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. St Pierre swivels though and keeps the full guard.
St Pierre has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Cozad MMA Los Angeles. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.
Shewmaker is stalling in the full guard.
St Pierre wants to hit a sweep here but Shewmaker passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for St Pierre there!
St Pierre is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Shewmaker won't let St Pierre get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
St Pierre prevents Shewmaker from taking his back.
St Pierre reaches up to try and control the position but Shewmaker seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! St Pierre rolls and tries to escape and now Shewmaker has his back!
Shewmaker working for a choke but St Pierre is defending well.

Shewmaker is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. St Pierre knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften St Pierre for a finish.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Shewmaker is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but St Pierre has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
St Pierre tries to escape but Shewmaker has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

Shewmaker is working for the choke. It looks like he might have got it... has he...? Yes! St Pierre is tapping out! This one is all over!
