Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Melvin Manhoeff (ranked 1370 p4p, 795 weight class) and Ben Askrew (ranked 187 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.

Manhoeff scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Askrew is trying to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Askrew manages to work his way to half guard, despite Manhoeff's best efforts.

Manhoeff winds up and cracks Askrew with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Askrew slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Manhoeff got a little sloppy there for a moment and Askrew has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Manhoeff has managed to get both his arms back between Askrew's legs - danger averted.

Askrew is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Manhoeff is aware though and is defending well.
Manhoeff lands a couple of elbows.

Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
Manhoeff slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Askrew working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Manhoeff doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Askrew is tightening it up a little... Manhoeff has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Manhoeff reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Manhoeff taps out! Nice BJJ there by Askrew!
