Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jake Askren (ranked 2467 p4p, 1920 weight class) and Dwalin Broadaxe (ranked 246 p4p, 195 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 1, fighting out of London, Jake Askren!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dwalin Broadaxe!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Russell Pearce and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Broadaxe moves into the clinch successfully.
Askren lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Broadaxe or not.

Broadaxe turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Broadaxe manages to end up in side control.
Broadaxe is trying to ground and pound but Askren uses the momentary lack of control by Broadaxe to regain half guard.

Broadaxe is working for a kimura but Askren is defending it quite comfortably.
Broadaxe missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Askren is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Arcalimon Top Team, so we'll see if he gets out of it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Askren is controlling Broadaxe's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Askren wants to improve his position but Broadaxe is controlling well.
Broadaxe throws a strike but Askren avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

Broadaxe throws a big elbow that misses.
Askren is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Askren trying to control the position.
Broadaxe loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Broadaxe working some strikes from top position.
Askren will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Broadaxe chips away with some ground and pound.
Broadaxe pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Askren is keeping the position for now.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Broadaxe wants to pass the guard but Askren is keeping the position.
Broadaxe throws an elbow that misses. Askren uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Broadaxe's guard. Nice move by Askren!


Broadaxe has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Askren should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Broadaxe has tightened it up now! Askren should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Dwalin Broadaxe!
