Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nicky Spite (ranked 779 p4p, 430 weight class) and Cesare Borgia (ranked 117 p4p, 68 weight class). Borgia has chosen Eye Of The Tiger as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nicky Spite!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Cesare Borgia!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Saam Ante and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Borgia misses with a double jab.
Spite seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Spite goes for a double leg but Borgia avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Borgia continues to drive forward.
Spite prevents the takedown attempt.
We've been hearing reports that Spite has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Spite decides to pull guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Spite being controlled here, momentarily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Spite is looking for a triangle but Borgia pushes his legs off easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Spite tries to roll over but Borgia keeps him under control.

It looks like Borgia might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Borgia throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Spite tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Borgia is in Spite's guard.

Spite has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Borgia can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Spite escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Borgia gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Borgia is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Spite is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Borgia doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Spite.
Borgia has his hands clasped together around Spite's back. He's all about the action.

Borgia moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Borgia is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Spite wants to control from the top but Borgia keeps moving.
Borgia lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Borgia is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Borgia got a little sloppy there for a moment and Spite has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Borgia has managed to get both his arms back between Spite's legs - danger averted.

Spite can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Borgia controls the pace.
Borgia works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Borgia keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Spite is pressing down on Borgia's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Borgia is pushing down on Spite's leg trying to pass to half guard. Spite is fighting to maintain full guard but Borgia has managed to sneak the leg through.
Borgia takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Let's hope that Borgia has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Spite takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

A quick step to the side and Spite tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Borgia lands with a straight right. Spite didn't see that one coming.
Borgia has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Spite is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Borgia thuds a left hand into Spite's body.
Spite dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Borgia shoots in for a takedown but Spite shows good takedown defense.

Borgia closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Spite did well to prevent Borgia getting side control.

Borgia has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
