Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Vitja Kostlov (ranked 2191 p4p, 1297 weight class) and Frederic Bastiat (ranked 0 p4p, 191 weight class). Frederic Bastiat is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bastiat lands with a cross.
Kostlov shoots in but no luck this time.
Kostlov throws a series of punches but Bastiat moves out of range.
Kostlov throws a head kick but Bastiat moves out of range.
Kostlov avoids a punch combination nicely.
Kostlov on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Kostlov tries to close the distance and clinch but Bastiat swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Kostlov gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Bastiat counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kostlov misses with a shot to the body
and Bastiat counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Bastiat connects with the punch.
Bastiat blocks the body kick.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kostlov doesn't succeed with the takedown
enabling Bastiat to counter with a crisp jab.

Bastiat cracks Kostlov with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Kostlov looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Bastiat finish him?

Kostlov is rocked!

It looks like Vitja Kostlov has been cut.
Bastiat swats away the attempt to clinch by Kostlov.
Oh Kostlov is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
We've been informed that Bastiat has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Bastiat keeps the fight on the outside.
It seemed like Bastiat was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Kostlov seems to have got his legs back now.
Bastiat walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Kostlov drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Bastiat swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Kostlov's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!
