PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Jones (ranked 3678 p4p, 5843 weight class) and Kibe Dai (ranked 445 p4p, 575 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mark Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kibe Dai!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Jonathan Paton and Steve Montenegro.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Jones, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Mark Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jones keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Jones wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Jones misses with a two punch combination.

Jones feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Jones postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dai looking for a guillotine here but Jones defends easily.

Jones drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Jones jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jones working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Dai's head.
Jones slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
