PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Vitja Kostlov (ranked 2493 p4p, 828 weight class) and Warrant Officer (ranked 348 p4p, 124 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Vitja Kostlov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Warrant Officer!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Richard Clark and Chris Edwards.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Officer lands a big head kick that sends Kostlov tumbling to the mat! Officer takes a step backwards and waves Kostlov back to his feet - he wants the finish!

It looks like Vitja Kostlov has been cut.
Kostlov tries to close the distance and clinch up but Officer swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Officer looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Kostlov takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Officer throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Officer tries a head kick but it misses.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Officer circles away from the clinch attempt.
Kostlov shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Officer pinned against the cage. Officer gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Kostlov shoots and misses
and Officer counters with a nice uppercut.
Kostlov fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vitja Kostlov. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kostlov takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Kostlov shoots in looking for a takedown. Officer tries to sprawl out of it but Kostlov keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Officer manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Officer lands a big uppercut and Kostlov crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Kostlov looks OK. Officer waves Kostlov back to his feet!

Kostlov is rocked!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Officer drops Kostlov with a naaaaasty hook - Kostlov is in real trouble here! Officer dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:14 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Warrant Officer!
In his post fight interview, Warrant Officer started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
