Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hunter Acosta (ranked 3604 p4p, 5068 weight class) and Gustav King (ranked 423 p4p, 528 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hunter Acosta!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gustav King!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Franklyn Lucas and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
King connects with a good right hand that stumbles Acosta. Acosta circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Acosta ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
King is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Acosta.
King scores with a jab.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
King scores with a nice hook to the head.
Acosta is looking to break free of the clinch but King has double underhooks.
King prevents a body shot from Acosta.
King working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
King scores with an uppercut up the middle.
King lands with a short shot to the head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Acosta is trying to break the clinch but King has him pressed against the cage.
King lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
King blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
I was talking to Acosta's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
A nice right hand lands inside from King.
A quick uppercut on the inside from King.
King lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Acosta wants to break free but King has control.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Acosta tumbles to the floor! King threw a big shot that dropped him and now King is on top looking to finish! Acosta has guard but can he survive?!

Acosta is rocked!
King seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Oh Acosta is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Acosta seems to have got his legs back now.
King sitting in guard, not really doing much.
King postures up.
King preventing the sweep.

Acosta had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. King defends it easily.
King showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
King wants to pass the guard but Acosta is keeping the position.
King throws a big right hand that misses.

King drops back looking for a leg! Acosta is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Acosta manages to kick King off! King jumps back into Acosta's guard.
King missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Acosta is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and King defends well.
Acosta working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from King.
King trying to control the position from guard on top but Acosta is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Acosta is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
King controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Acosta is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. King is aware though and is defending well.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
King wants to control from the top but Acosta keeps moving.

King is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
King is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Acosta not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
King must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
King trying to control but Acosta is working from the bottom.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Acosta is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. King is aware though and is defending well.
Acosta not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Acosta keeping moving, preventing King from controlling successfully.
King tries to free his leg and advance position but Acosta is retaining full guard.
King postures up in Acosta's guard and throws a big left but Acosta blocks it.

King won't allow Acosta to sweep him here.
King is working Acosta over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Acosta working for a triangle but King defends it easily.

King drops back looking for a leg! Acosta is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Acosta manages to kick King off! King jumps back into Acosta's guard.
King controlling from the top position.
Acosta pulls King in close to prevent any damage.
King throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Acosta works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Acosta looking to hit a scissor sweep but King is one step ahead there.

King has gone for a leg lock! Acosta slips out almost immediately though and dives into King's guard.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Gustav King dominated that round.
That's time! Acosta's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Acosta takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
King bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
We've been informed that King has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
A good leg kick by King.
Acosta looks to score with a jab to the body but King is just out of range.

King has closed the distance and engaged Acosta in a clinch.
Acosta throws a punch but it's blocked by King.
King pushes Acosta back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
King prevents Acosta from breaking the clinch.
King blocks a body shot from Acosta.
King keeps control of Acosta as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Acosta fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Acosta wants to get back to striking at distance but King won't allow it.
King lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Acosta tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. King smiles and moves away.
Acosta misses with an uppercut.
King throws a good cross that connects.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Acosta drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
King bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Acosta's head backwards.
Sloppy strikes from Acosta. Those never looked like landing.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
King lands an uppercut in the clinch that drops Acosta to his knees! King keeps firing more shots against his stricken opponent and the referee jumps in to save him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:22 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Gustav King!
Gustav King spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
