Mahrishi's entrance music is On the Precipe of Defeat. A fine choice. Aatreya Mahrishi could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Tom Tomson's chin.

With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tom Tomson!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Eddie Farnsworth and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tomson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Tomson on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Tomson misses the jab.
Tomson throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Mahrishi on the side of the head.
Tomson misses with a combination
and Mahrishi counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Tomson connects with the punch.
It looks like Aatreya Mahrishi has been cut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mahrishi misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Mahrishi scores with a jab to the body.
Tomson motions for Mahrishi to come forward. Tomson throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Tomson misses with a shot to the body
and Mahrishi counters with a straight right hand.
Mahrishi throws a poor cross that misses
enabling Tomson to counter with a crisp jab.
Mahrishi wants to clinch.
Tomson now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Mahrishi misses with a hook.
Tomson missing with a left hand there. Mahrishi was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
A slapping body kick lands there for Tomson.
Mahrishi scores with a jab to the jaw.

Mahrishi tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Mahrishi rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Tomson dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Mahrishi. That did some damage!
We've been hearing reports that Mahrishi has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Tomson swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Mahrishi moves out of range of the strikes.
Mahrishi misses with a straight right.
Tomson doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Tomson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Mahrishi circles away quickly and effectively.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Tomson blocks a head kick by Mahrishi.
Mahrishi throws a big shot that misses.
Tomson has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight.

Mahrishi misses with an uppercut
and Tomson counters with a nice uppercut.
Tomson throws a right hand that Mahrishi ducks under and follows up with a left that Mahrishi also avoids with ease.
Mahrishi takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
A swing and a miss from Tomson.
Tomson moves out of range as Mahrishi strikes.
Tomson misses with a double jab
letting Mahrishi counter with a right hand.
Mahrishi slips a jab from Tomson.
Mahrishi throws a quick counter head kick but Tomson was just out of range.
Mahrishi tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Tomson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Mahrishi lunges at Tomson with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Tomson's hand.
Mahrishi tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Tomson uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Mahrishi.
Mahrishi tests Tomson's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Tomson is rocked!
Mahrishi drops a shoulder and throws a monster hook that connects perfectly to the side of Tomson's head, knocking him out cold! Mahrishi is extatic as he celebrates with his cornermen.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Aatreya Mahrishi!
