Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jonny West (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Jeffries (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). John Jeffries told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jonny West!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jeffries misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Jab from West.
West scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Jeffries shoots in for a takedown but West shows good takedown defense.
West getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
West scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Jonny West seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
West will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
West misses with a few strikes there.
West rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Jeffries moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
West sizes up Jeffries with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
West tries to land a leg kick but Jeffries saw it coming and moves away.
West dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Jeffries tries to clinch but West moves out of range.
Jeffries has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
West connects with a right hand. Jeffries shakes it off.
West avoids a punch combination nicely.
Jeffries tries to close the distance and clinch up but West swats him away and circles back towards the center.
West cracks Jeffries with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Jeffries takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Jeffries walks into a straight right hand from West.
West throws a series of strikes that have Jeffries backpedaling.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Nice takedown defense from West. No joy for Jeffries on that attempt.
West darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
A cross from West lands.
Jeffries throws a solid leg kick but West takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Jeffries.

Jeffries feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
West is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

West manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

West manages to capitalize on a mistake by Jeffries to take his back!

Jeffries is trying to defend against the choke here but West has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. West Tightens the hold and Jeffries taps out furiously! West displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
