PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sam Malone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dirk Squatter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Squatter has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Dirk Squatter looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Malone wants to clinch up but Squatter keeps it at a distance.
Malone goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Squatter looks gassed!

Malone closes the distance and clinches.
Squatter wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Malone tightens his grip and picks Squatter up, before dumping him to the ground. Squatter manages to land in guard.

Squatter is defending against the submission attempts here by Malone.
Malone perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Squatter has hold of Malone's hands but Malone slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Malone's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Malone had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Squatter is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Malone Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Squatter's back instead.

Malone has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
