Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rod De Minaur (ranked 175 p4p, 1057 weight class) and Damian Tonon (ranked 24 p4p, 141 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think De Minaur might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Seek and Destroy . Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Minaur misses with the combination.
Tonon with the counter takedown but De Minaur avoids it easily.
We've been told by De Minaur's head coaches at Memento Mori that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Tonon uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from De Minaur.
Rod De Minaur seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
De Minaur misses the jab.
De Minaur fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Tonon manages to avoid it.
Tonon has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as De Minaur is landing a low percentage of strikes.
De Minaur misses with an uppercut.
Tonon has managed to clinch.
De Minaur tries to throw a body punch but Tonon avoids it by throwing De Minaur back against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
De Minaur misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Tonon jumps guard but De Minaur turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
De Minaur tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
De Minaur tries to work over Tonon's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Tonon is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but De Minaur is defending well.

Tonon fails to pull guard.
Rod De Minaur has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Damian Tonon.

De Minaur fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

De Minaur stopping the sweep attempt from Tonon.
Tonon has control of De Minaur's left arm, preventing De Minaur from doing any damage.
Tonon working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. De Minaur doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. De Minaur manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Tonon is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Tonon throws his legs up looking for a submission but De Minaur uses it to pass to side control.
Tonon gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Tonon is working on a guillotine. He's managed to get to full guard and he's really squeezing tight! De Minaur is tapping! Great win for Tonon!
