Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chip Saunders (ranked 5750 p4p, 3927 weight class) and Jack Dempsey (ranked 115 p4p, 128 weight class). Jack Dempsey will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chip Saunders!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jack Dempsey!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Cecil Peabody and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dempsey throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Saunders.
Saunders shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Dempsey but Dempsey pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Dempsey throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
A left and a right from Dempsey both land. Nice combination.

It looks like Chip Saunders has been cut.
Saunders shoots and misses
and Dempsey counters with a lovely shot to the body.
A shot to the body from Dempsey misses
and Saunders counters with a one-two to the body.
Dempsey swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Saunders scores with a nice head shot.
Dempsey throws a right hand that Saunders ducks under and follows up with a left that Saunders also avoids with ease.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Saunders darts in and clinches Dempsey up against the cage.

Saunders pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Dempsey gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Saunders decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Dempsey, up you get!

Dempsey swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Saunders counters by moving into the clinch.

Saunders's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Dempsey throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Saunders counters with a thumping low kick.
Saunders shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Dempsey but Dempsey pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chip Saunders. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Dempsey throws a right and a left that Saunders avoids nicely.

Saunders shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Dempsey napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Dempsey throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

Saunders pushes Dempsey up against the cage in a clinch.
Dempsey is trying to force a seperation but Saunders has the dominant position.
Dempsey takes an elbow to the forehead.
Dempsey wants to get back to striking at distance but Saunders won't allow it.

Saunders decides to pull guard.

Saunders is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Dempsey presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Dempsey prevents the takedown attempt.
The referee is keeping an eye on Saunders - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Saunders decides to pull guard.
Saunders has Dempsey pulled in close to control his posture.
Saunders looking to control.

Dempsey decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Saunders, up you get!
Saunders tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Dempsey swivels and escapes.
Dempsey swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Jack Dempsey will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Chip Saunders's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Dempsey jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Dempsey takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Dempsey looks to score with a jab to the body but Saunders is just out of range.
Saunders uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Dempsey.
Saunders throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Dempsey's head.

It looks like Jack Dempsey has been cut.
Saunders throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Saunders on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Horrible takedown attempt by Saunders or perhaps it was just good defense by Dempsey, which made it look bad.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Dempsey tries to break the clinch but Saunders is controlling the position.

Saunders prevents Dempsey from breaking the clinch.
Saunders is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
A frustrated look appears on Dempsey's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Dempsey is trying to force a seperation but Saunders has the dominant position.

Saunders has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Saunders shoots and misses

and Dempsey counters with a nice right hand that sends Saunders toppling to the canvas! Saunders scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Dempsey finish him?!

Saunders is rocked!

Dempsey throws a counter combo.
Jack Dempsey seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Saunders tries to close the distance and clinch but Dempsey swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Saunders goes for a double leg but Dempsey avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Dempsey continues to drive forward.
Saunders changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Dempsey fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Saunders avoids a punch combination nicely.
Dempsey looks to land a combination but Saunders avoids it well.
Dempsey just misses with a punch to the body.
Saunders wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Saunders closes this distance looking for a takedown but Dempsey circles away.
Dempsey unleashes a big counter combination but Saunders bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Saunders will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Dempsey throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Dempsey has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Saunders dives in for a single leg takedown but Dempsey sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Dempsey has had enough of the clinch but Saunders keeps him there for the moment.
Dempsey prevents the takedown attempt.
Saunders drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Saunders goes for a takedown attempt but Dempsey pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Dempsey takes a swing at Saunders's ribcage but misses.
Dempsey throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Saunders stumbling backwards into the cage! Saunders bounces back off the cage towards Dempsey, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Dempsey lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Dempsey celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:22 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Jack Dempsey!
