PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Augusto Pinochet (ranked 993 p4p, 1655 weight class) and Osama Akharraz (ranked 148 p4p, 240 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Pinochet might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to I Need a Pinochet. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pinochet uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Akharraz.

Pinochet ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Akharraz moves away.

and Pinochet cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Akharraz takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Akharraz gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Pinochet lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Akharraz backwards.
Pinochet makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
A head punch on the inside from Akharraz fails to land.
Pinochet's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Pinochet is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Pinochet's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Pinochet connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Pinochet walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Akharraz throws a sloppy head kick and Pinochet moves out of range easily.

A bone on bone clash there as Pinochet blocks the leg kick.

It looked like Pinochet wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

We've been told by Pinochet's head coaches at Soul Supremacy Rio that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

No joy there for Akharraz, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Akharraz clinches up with Pinochet and pushes him back against the cage.

Pinochet breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Pinochet does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Pinochet is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Akharraz.
Pinochet cracks Akharraz with a hook to the temple - Akharraz is on wobbly legs here! Pinochet swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Akharraz falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Pinochet wins by TKO!

A less than humble Augusto Pinochet misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
