Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Vitja Kostlov (ranked 2857 p4p, 5543 weight class) and Mason Marmot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marmot swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Kostlov is looking for a counter combo.
Kostlov has his takedown stuffed
and Kostlov takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Marmot keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Kostlov slips a jab and a cross from Marmot .

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Kostlov closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Marmot quickly recovers to half guard.
Marmot is trying to escape back to his feet but Kostlov uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Kostlov controls the position from side control.

Kostlov lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Marmot down.
Kostlov creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

Marmot is trying desperately to improve position.
Marmot 's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Kostlov is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Marmot can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
