Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Azor Ahai!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 12 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Tomomisan Tsuruta!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Alan Glass and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tsuruta rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Ahai counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Tsuruta swings widly with a right hand
and Ahai counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Ahai throws a leg kick but Tsuruta moved away.
Ahai digs a good hook to Tsuruta's body.
Nice jab there from Ahai.
Ahai with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Tsuruta checks a low kick from Ahai.
Tsuruta appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Ahai fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Tsuruta.
Tsuruta moves out of range as Ahai strikes.
Tsuruta takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Ahai connects with a solid leg kick.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Ahai attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Ahai takes a body punch but keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Tsuruta takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Tsuruta finds himself stumbling back on wobbly legs after being clipped by a right hand. He's up against the cage, ducking and weaving under Ahai's strikes but an uppercut finds it's way through and Tsuruta falls! - He's completely out of it and the ref jumps in to save him!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:14 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Azor Ahai!
During a confident post fight interview, Azor Ahai thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
