The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bennett closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Bennett lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Barnes breaks from the clinch.
Barnes takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

It looks like Matt Barnes has been cut.
Bennett connects with a crisp jab.
Barnes scoring well with a low kick there.
Bennett fails with an attempt to clinch.
Bennett avoids the head kick by Barnes.
Bennett has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Barnes.
Barnes ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Bennett moves away.
A looping hook to the body misses from Barnes. Bennett does a little dance to reset his feet.
Barnes throws out a powerful jab.

It looks like Robert Bennett has been cut.

Bennett throws a hook to the side of Barnes's head but Barnes sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Barnes unleashes a big counter combination but Bennett bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Barnes turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Bennett misses with a jab to the body
and Barnes counters with a slapping leg kick.
Bennett fails in his attempt to clinch.

Bennett has closed the distance and engaged Barnes in a clinch.
A left hand lands to the body for Barnes.

Barnes breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Robert Bennett seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Barnes throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A jab lands there for Bennett.
Bennett tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Barnes paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Barnes lands a leg kick that knocks Bennett off balance momentarily.
Bennett fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Barnes pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Bennett tries to counter by clinching up but Barnes breaks away and moves out of range.
Bennett tries to clinch but Barnes is having none of it.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Bennett tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Barnes manages to circle out of the way.
Bennett lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Bennett uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Barnes.
Barnes looks to land a right hand but Bennett moved out of range.
Bennett throws out a powerful jab.
Bennett moves in looking to clinch but Barnes pushes him off.
Bennett throws a body punch but Barnes moves out of range.
The fight stays on the outside here - Bennett looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Bennett just misses with a punch to the body.
Barnes keeps the fight on the outside.

Bennett tries to close the distance and clinch up but Barnes swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Barnes now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Barnes's coach down at Mentor Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Barnes's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Barnes swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Barnes tries to land a leg kick but Bennett saw it coming and moves away.

Bennett sends Barnes crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Bennett is motioning to the referee to let Barnes up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Barnes is rocked!

That has opened up Matt Barnes's cut even more.
Barnes leaves his chin hanging out and Bennett seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Barnes crumbles to the floor in a heap! The referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!
