Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Chip Nickel (ranked 432 p4p, 582 weight class) and Kotaro Kikuta (ranked 59 p4p, 83 weight class). Nickel comes into the arena with TISM - Greg the Stop Sign blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kotaro Kikuta!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Dean Styles and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nickel bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Nickel takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Kikuta has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Kikuta tries to clinch but Nickel moves out of range.
It looked like Nickel wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Kikuta throws a low kick, looking for Nickel's leg but Nickel calmly moves out of range.
Nickel throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Kikuta throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Nickel counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Nickel definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

and Nickel counters with a straight right hand.
A punch combination from Kikuta misses.
Kikuta misses with a straight left.
Nice defenses there by Nickel.
Kikuta throws a looping overhand right but Nickel ducks down to avoid it.
Nickel cracks Kikuta with a good jab.
Nickel takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
This has been an exciting period of action!

and Nickel counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Nickel paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Nickel is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Nickel connects with a body shot.
Kikuta missing with a left hand there. Nickel was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Kikuta misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Nickel.
Kikuta takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Nickel instigates a clinch.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Kikuta.
Nickel lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.

Kikuta creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Nickel's defenses.

Kikuta's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kikuta's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Nickel steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Kikuta.
Nickel pushes Kikuta up against the cage in a clinch.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Nickel.
Kikuta is trying to maintain a safe position but Nickel gets an underhook and turns Kikuta into the cage.
Nickel makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
A nice right hand lands inside from Nickel.
Nickel misses with a short punch on the inside.
Kikuta misses with a short punch on the inside.
Kikuta lands an elbow just above Nickel 's eye.
Nickel lands a right hand that snaps the head of Kikuta backwards.
Nickel breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Kikuta lands a lovely overhand right.
Kikuta misses with a jab to the body
and Nickel counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Nickel lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Kikuta misses with a shot to the body
and Kikuta takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Kikuta is still on wobbly legs! Can Nickel finish him?
Kikuta swings widly with a right hand
and Nickel counters with a right hand from hell and Kikuta is out cold! A vicious knockout!
