Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kyle Austin (ranked 1328 p4p, 1065 weight class) and Aleksey Viktorov (ranked 208 p4p, 164 weight class). Aleksey Viktorov has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 4 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kyle Austin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Aleksey Viktorov!
The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Austin has taken the fight to the clinch.

Viktorov successfully pulls guard.

Viktorov is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Viktorov has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at EFC Gym. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

Viktorov has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Austin can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Austin would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Austin got a little sloppy there for a moment and Viktorov has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Austin has managed to get both his arms back between Viktorov's legs - danger averted.

Viktorov has his foot on Austin's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Austin works his way back into a safe position though.

Austin tries to bum rush Viktorov with a series of wild strikes but Viktorov uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Austin feints and then cracks Viktorov's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Viktorov down.

Viktorov stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Austin.

A nice side step and Viktorov releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

Viktorov has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Austin.

Austin lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Austin moves into the clinch.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Viktorov is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Austin is aware though and is defending well.

Viktorov escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Austin gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Austin stands up from Viktorov's guard - Austin perhaps looking for a knockout.
Austin dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Viktorov. That did some damage!

Austin has closed the distance and engaged Viktorov in a clinch.
Austin with an attempt at a knee that misses.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Austin moves into range and clinches up with Viktorov.
Austin misses with an elbow over the top.

Viktorov is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Austin to keep the fight standing.

Viktorov tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Viktorov isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Austin stacks Viktorov on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Austin!

Austin has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Viktorov to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Austin is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Viktorov pulls down on the head and he's put Austin to sleep! This one is all over!
