Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Tobias Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Santiago Holmes and David Hoff.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Johnson.
King lands a nice shot to the body.
Nice defenses there by Johnson.
Johnson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Johnson is looking to clinch but King is avoiding it.
King scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Johnson has his takedown stuffed
and King connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
David King has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tobias Johnson.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

King fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Johnson, pushing him back against the cage.

King manages to break the clinch.
King digs a good body shot into Johnson's ribs.

Johnson closes the distance looking to clinch
and King counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Johnson shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. King is trying to defend but Johnson finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Johnson throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

King looks like he's trying to stand up.
Johnson lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
King is not content to let Johnson control the position.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Johnson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks King with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
King is not content to let Johnson control the position.
King is looking for a sweep. Johnson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Johnson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Johnson rushes King and presses him up against the cage.

Johnson is looking for a takedown up against the cage. King gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
The referee calls for King to work.

Johnson wants the takedown. King is fighting it off but Johnson persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in King's guard against the cage.
Johnson chips away with some ground and pound.
Johnson's corner is telling him to maintain position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Johnson landing some decent shots from guard.
Johnson is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Johnson wants to control from the top but King keeps moving.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Johnson's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Johnson seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

David King dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

and King counters with a stiff right hand.
Johnson is looking to clinch but King is avoiding it.
Tobias Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Johnson darts in trying to clinch
and King counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Johnson shoots in for a double leg but King sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
King misses the shot to the body.
Johnson tries for a takedown but King circles away easily
and King counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
David King has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tobias Johnson.

Johnson tries to close the distance and clinch but King swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
King was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
King is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Johnson can do to turn this around?
Johnson doesn't succeed with the takedown
and King scores with a counter punch that sends Johnson to the canvas! King smells blood - he's punishing Johnson with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Johnson has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). David King!
After winning the bout, David King thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
