Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rico Axelrod!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Shinji Tomoguchi!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, David Schapiro and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tomoguchi throws a lazy right hand but Axelrod sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
We've been told by Axelrod's head coaches at Roosters Coop that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Axelrod closes this distance looking for a takedown but Tomoguchi circles away.
A little jabbing left from Tomoguchi on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
A combination from Axelrod does no damage.
Tomoguchi throws a looping overhand right but Axelrod ducks down to avoid it.
Shinji Tomoguchi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Tomoguchi in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.

Well Tomoguchi has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Shinji Tomoguchi decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
