Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Barry McCockiner (ranked 970 p4p, 1037 weight class) and Gennady Mikhasevich (ranked 148 p4p, 159 weight class). McCockiner comes to the cage accompanied by Farewell to Cheyenn. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 31 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gennady Mikhasevich!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Leandro Rodrigues and Edson Gomes.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mikhasevich cracks McCockiner with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

It looks like Barry McCockiner has been cut.
Mikhasevich takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
McCockiner throws a series of punches but Mikhasevich avoids them all with ease.
Mikhasevich jabbing away but nothing is landing.
McCockiner waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Mikhasevich.
McCockiner misses with a double jab
and Mikhasevich counters with a right hand to the body.
McCockiner throws a wild body kick that Mikhasevich sees coming a mile off.
McCockiner slips a straight right by Mikhasevich.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mikhasevich with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
McCockiner looks to score with a jab to the body but Mikhasevich is just out of range.

Mikhasevich bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

McCockiner looks to throw the jab but Mikhasevich is out of range.
McCockiner lands a head shot.
McCockiner stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
McCockiner throws a hook to the side of Mikhasevich's head but Mikhasevich sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Mikhasevich shapes to counter with a head kick.
A jab from McCockiner misses.
It seemed like Mikhasevich was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
McCockiner misses with a lunging right hand
and Mikhasevich counters with a stiff right hand.
Mikhasevich throws an overhand right that lands on McCockiner's shoulder, as McCockiner tries to avoid the shot.
McCockiner lands with a good body shot.
Mikhasevich throws a head kick that half lands.

McCockiner lands a left and a right that send Mikhasevich crashing to the mat, dazed. McCockiner thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mikhasevich on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

McCockiner closes the distance and lands a brutal uppercut that knocks Mikhasevich out! We're looking at the replay now - he was out before he hit the floor!

A relieved looking Barry McCockiner thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
