PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Charles Foster (ranked 23873 p4p, 24028 weight class) and Brock Lesnar (ranked 663 p4p, 625 weight class). Foster comes to the cage accompanied by Nuclear Power Trio - A Clear and Present Rager. Lesnar is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Chop Suey. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Charles Foster!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brock Lesnar!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Joseph Jones and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Foster gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Lesnar has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Lesnar lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Lesnar lands a body punch in the clinch.
Foster is stalling here.
A nice left hand lands by Lesnar.

It looks like Charles Foster has been cut.
Foster wants a takedown but no success here.
Lesnar wants to stall.
Lesnar fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Foster looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Lesnar pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Foster tries to close the distance and clinch but Lesnar swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Foster wants to clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lesnar throws a right and a left that Foster avoids nicely.
Lesnar scores with a jab.

and Foster counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Lesnar lands a jab to the head.

A punch combination from Lesnar misses.
Lesnar loads up on a big right hand but Foster slips the punch.
Lesnar throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Lesnar connects with an inside leg kick.
Lesnar misses with a left hand

and Foster counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Foster.
A shot in the inside from Lesnar.
Lesnar blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Lesnar has a couple of punches blocked by Foster.
Lesnar goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Foster has Lesnar pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Lesnar manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Lesnar scores with a shoulder strike.
Lesnar scores with an uppercut up the middle.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
Foster has had enough of the clinch but Lesnar keeps him there for the moment.
Lesnar throws a head punch that misses.
Foster wants a takedown but no success here.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Charles Foster. That's going to take a lot out of him.

A head punch on the inside from Lesnar fails to land.
Foster has Lesnar pushed against the cage.

Foster is trying to trip Lesnar. He has hold of a leg but Lesnar is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Foster persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lesnar controls Foster momentarily but Foster frees himself.
Lesnar looking to hit a scissor sweep but Foster is one step ahead there.
Lesnar is pulling down on Foster's head to control his posture.
Lesnar is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Foster stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lesnar swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Lesnar working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Foster doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Foster manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lesnar is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Lesnar is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Foster is positioning himself well to prevent Lesnar advancing to mount.
Lesnar winds up and cracks Foster with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Foster is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Lesnar pulls his head out easily.
Lesnar seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Lesnar thows a huge punch but Foster dodges it nicely.

Lesnar is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Foster has managed to free his arm - good work.
Foster is trying to stand up here but Lesnar is controlling him well.

Foster is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Lesnar pulls his head out easily.
Lesnar thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Foster is not content to let Lesnar control the position.
Lesnar prevents Foster from improving his position.

Lesnar is looking for submissions but instead, Foster has regained full guard.
Lesnar in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Brock Lesnar dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Charles Foster's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Foster steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Lesnar.
Foster throws a big counter combination but Lesnar scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Foster uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Lesnar.
Lesnar misses with a double jab.
Lesnar throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Foster sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Lesnar thuds his right hand into Foster's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
The fighters circling - Lesnar throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Nice jab there from Lesnar.
Lesnar takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
A jab from Lesnar finds it's way through Foster's defenses.

Charles Foster's cut is getting worse.
Brock Lesnar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lesnar drops Foster with a big left hand! Foster is injured, injured bad! Lesnar jumps in and finished him with strikes! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:41 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Brock Lesnar!
Brock Lesnar was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
