Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dylan Sydal (ranked 3769 p4p, 3204 weight class) and King Turn (ranked 445 p4p, 387 weight class). Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Dylan Sydal!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, King Turn !
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Peter Branson and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Turn takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
We've been told by Sydal's head coaches at Walter J Abramowitz Center for Bigness that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Sydal stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Sydal wants it to stay on the feet.

Turn gets a clinch.

Sydal breaks from the clinch.

Sydal clinches.
Sydal is trying to drag Turn to the mat but Turn just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Turn misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Sydal.
Turn is looking to take this one to the mat.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Turn has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Sydal gets control of Turn 's arms and successfully pulls guard. Sydal will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Sydal wants to sweep but no luck.
Turn works over Sydal with some ground and pound from guard.
Sydal bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Turn 's guard.

Turn keeping full guard, as Sydal tries to pass.
Turn doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Sydal wants to stand and escape but instead Turn has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Turn wants to control from the top but Sydal keeps moving.
Sydal is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Turn advances position into side control!
Sydal tries to bench press Turn off him but Turn keeps the position.
Turn wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sydal keeps working.
Sydal is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Sydal tries to get to full guard but Turn has control of the leg.
Sydal keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Turn not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Sydal has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Turn is working away from the top position though.
Turn throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Turn thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Sydal's head.
Turn is keen to just control but Sydal is a slippery customer.
Sydal is looking to improve his position.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup.
Sydal looks like he's trying to stand up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Sydal shoots in but Turn avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Sydal throws a leg kick

and Turn decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Sydal's guard.

Turn trying to control but Sydal is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sydal wants to hit a sweep here but Turn passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Sydal there!
Sydal knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Turn on the ground.
Turn tries to control but Sydal wriggling away.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Sydal wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Turn .
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but King Turn will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Sydal throws a series of punches but Turn moves out of range.
Sydal shoots in and drives through. Turn sprawls well.
Turn fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Turn avoids the head kick by Sydal.
Sydal tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Turn shoots in for a takedown but Sydal shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Sydal keeps the fight on the outside.
Turn doesn't manage to clinch there - Sydal circles away.
Sydal appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sydal pushes Turn up against the cage in a clinch.
Sydal has Turn pushed against the cage.
Sydal blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Sydal escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Turn looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Sydal!

Sydal throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

Turn gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Turn scrambles and gets back to his feet.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Turn .
Dylan Sydal has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of King Turn .
Sydal throws a sloppy head kick and Turn moves out of range easily.
King Turn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sydal ducks under a wild hook from Turn .
Turn moves to clinch but Sydal breaks away

and Sydal counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Sydal.

Sydal advances position into side control!

Sydal is trying to get an arm triangle but Turn is defending well.
Turn manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Sydal on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Sydal tries to get out of the position.

Turn is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Turn lands with a punch from half guard.

Turn is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Sydal has managed to free his arm - good work.
Turn is keen to just control but Sydal is a slippery customer.

Sydal wants to get back to his feet.
Sydal is trying to maintain the position but Turn is very close to passing his half guard.
Turn prevents Sydal from standing back up.
Turn perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Sydal is looking to improve his position.
Turn thows a huge punch but Sydal dodges it nicely.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Turn throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
King Turn has got the better of the ground game so far.
Turn is looking to advance position but Sydal won't allow it.
Turn lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Turn looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Turn is trying to control the action in half guard but Sydal is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Sydal keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Dylan Sydal will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Sydal gets tackled into the cage by Turn . Turn maintains the clinch.

Turn shoots in and drives through. Sydal sprawls well.
Sydal feinted with a counter takedown.
Dylan Sydal is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Turn shoots for a takedown but Sydal saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Dylan Sydal has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of King Turn .

Turn takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Sydal has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Turn is looking to sweep but instead, Sydal has passed into half guard.
Turn is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Sydal is taking a breather. Turn says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Sydal is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Sydal is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Turn is trying to stand back up but Sydal is controlling him
Turn moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Sydal stops Turn from standing up.
Sydal pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Turn is keeping the position for now.
Turn being controlled here, momentarily.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Turn is looking to clinch.
Turn looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Turn defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Sydal.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Turn is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Sydal manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Turn drops down looking for an ankle pick but Sydal pulls his leg out and moves away.
Turn shoots in looking for a takedown but Sydal manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Turn 's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Sydal connects with a good right hand that stumbles Turn . Turn circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
