Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Better Dead!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Eric Ries!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Dirk Anderson and David Hoff.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dead fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Ries checks it well.
Dead connects with a right hand. Ries shakes it off.
Dead throws a poor cross that misses
and Ries counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
We've been informed that Ries has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Dead throws out a loose jab but Ries uses good head movement to avoid it.
We've been told by Dead's head coaches at Acme Island Savages that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Dead misses with a straight right.
Dead misses with a hook
letting Ries counter with a right hand.
Dead throws a body shot but no joy.
Dead takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Dead scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Dead digs a good hook to Ries's body.
Dead just misses with a punch to the body.
Dead connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Dead swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Ries takes one on the button.
Dead misses the jab.
Ries takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
A jab from Dead misses.
Dead connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
A looping hook to the body misses from Ries. Dead does a little dance to reset his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dead moves out of range of the strikes.
Dead throws a body punch but Ries moves out of range.
Ries walks into a jab.
Ries steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Dead.
Dead really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Dead jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Ries jabs Dead right on the nose. Dead blinks but takes it well.
Ries with a hook.
Ries moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Ries lands a nice shot to the body.
Dead rushes Ries with punches - Ries moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Ries goes down! Dead follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Better Dead!
