Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dan Averescu (ranked 1443 p4p, 1528 weight class) and Nathan Parker (ranked 206 p4p, 214 weight class). Averescu comes to the cage accompanied by Guns N' Roses - Welcome To The Jungle. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dan Averescu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nathan Parker!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Percy O'Donnell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from Parker does no damage.
Good standup being displayed there by Parker as he connects with a hook.
Parker bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Averescu's head backwards.
Parker lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Averescu circles away quickly and effectively.
A right-left combo lands from Parker.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Parker has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Averescu misses the jab.
Parker tries to bum rush Averescu with a series of wild strikes but Averescu uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Parker smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Parker misses with a left hand
and Averescu counters with a straight right hand.
Averescu looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Parker shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Averescu eats them both and turns towards Parker to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Parker swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Averescu connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Parker falls off balance throwing a combination
and Averescu counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Averescu looks to land a left hand but Parker moved out of range nicely.

Parker misses with a hook. Averescu ducked under it nicely.
As Parker looks to move away, Averescu throws a big counter combo but Parker just gets out of the way.
Averescu slips a jab and a cross from Parker.
Averescu throws a body punch but Parker moves out of range.
Parker appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.

Parker scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

and Averescu counters with a stiff right hand.

As Averescu backs off Parker throws a huge counter combo but Averescu manages to avoid it all.
Parker misses with a few strikes there.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Averescu connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Sloppy strikes from Parker. Those never looked like landing.
Averescu went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Averescu lands a big uppercut and Parker crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Parker looks OK. Averescu waves Parker back to his feet!

Parker is rocked!

Parker is still on wobbly legs! Can Averescu finish him?
Nice defenses there by Parker.
Parker will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Averescu slips a straight right by Parker.
Parker seems to have recovered his senses.
Parker throws a wild hook but Averescu just manages to duck under it and - ooooh! Parker gets nailed by a brutal uppercut which crumples him back against the cage! The referee jumps in - Averescu raises his hands in celebration and walks away!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dan Averescu!
A relieved looking Dan Averescu thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
