Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Project One (ranked 6258 p4p, 2976 weight class) and Rob Rush (ranked 669 p4p, 432 weight class). Rob Rush is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Project One!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rob Rush!
The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rush throws a right and a left that both miss.
Rush will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Rush throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Rush tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but One was well out of range. Poor timing from Rush.
Rush lunges at One with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by One's hand.

Rush blocks a head kick by One.
Rush is clearly trying to counter these attacks from One with a body shot.
Rob Rush seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
One slips under a jab.
One seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Rush cracks One with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Rush throws a series of punches but One avoids them all with ease.

Rush goes for a double leg but One avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as One continues to drive forward.

One fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Rush is out of range.
Donk. Rush catches One right on the button with a cross.
One displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Rush throws out the jab.
Rush shoots in for a takedown but One shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Rush throws an uppercut from half a mile away. One sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Rush might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Rush uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before One has time to react.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
One tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Rush paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Rush shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
One is wriggling around but Rush manages to pass to half guard.

One is looking for a sweep. Rush is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Rush is looking to take a break and control but One is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

One's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Rush connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! One scrambles back to his feet.

Rush shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

One tries to lock up and control but Rush gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
One is desperately trying to improve his position but Rush has a good base and remains in mount.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

One is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

One manages to regain half guard whilst avoiding the strikes.
Rush thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed One's head.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Rush connects with a nice short shot to One's temple.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Rob Rush showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! One's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

One moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

One swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

and Rush counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

One is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Rush's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.
Rush swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Rush lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Rush takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Rush stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Rush wants it to stay on the feet.

One looks up at the clock. Bad move! Rush lands a right hand from hell, dropping One. Rush pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.
