PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between RJ Cain (ranked 3206 p4p, 2824 weight class) and Lou Valentine (ranked 419 p4p, 380 weight class). Cain comes into the arena with Middle Class Rut blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cain blocks a low kick nicely.
Valentine has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Valentine uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Cain.
Valentine jabbing away but nothing is landing.
A chopping leg kick lands by Valentine.
Valentine jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Valentine works the jab nicely.

Valentine moves into the clinch.

Valentine jumps into guard, dragging Cain to the mat.
Cain is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Cain content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Valentine has locked up a guillotine! Valentine's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Cain is holding on here and Valentine must be using up a lot of energy. Cain has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Valentine gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
