Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Pedro Phillips!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kazuo Takashi!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Peter Branson and Winston Alpacca.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from Phillips does no damage.
Phillips has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Takashi has Phillips up against the cage in a clinch.
Phillips blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Phillips wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Phillips is trying to force a seperation but Takashi has the dominant position.
Takashi displaying some good clinch control by pressing Phillips up against the cage.
Takashi can't find room to land a body shot as Phillips controls the action.
Phillips is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Takashi avoids the elbow strike from Phillips, against the cage.
Takashi fails to pull guard.
Takashi jumps guard but Phillips turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Phillips wants to break free but Takashi has control.
Takashi jumps guard and drags Phillips to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Phillips wanted to stand there but Takashi had control of the position.

Phillips stands and steps away. Takashi gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Takashi drives through and clinches with Phillips against the cage.
Takashi has Phillips pressed against the cage.
Takashi misses with a hook to the ribs.
Takashi tries to pull guard but Phillips forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Pedro Phillips has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kazuo Takashi.
Phillips escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
The fight moves into the clinch position.

Phillips lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Takashi pulls guard successfully.
Takashi controls Phillips momentarily but Phillips frees himself.
Takashi has his feet on Phillips's thighs here. He's pushed Phillips off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Phillips screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Kazuo Takashi! Kazuo Takashi retains his bantamweight title!
After the fight, Kazuo Takashi was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
The defeated Pedro Phillips had this to say: 'esto perdido no cambia nada. Volveré muy rápido !!'.
