PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Devin Vandenboss (ranked 4505 p4p, 4190 weight class) and Big Zac Tan (ranked 0 p4p, 575 weight class). Vandenboss comes to the cage accompanied by Nero Forte. Tan has chosen Pull Up as his entrance music. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Big Zac Tan enters the cage!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Oooooh!!! Tan has knocked Vandenboss down with a huge combo! Tan steps away and waves a wobbly Vandenboss back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Vandenboss is rocked!

It looks like Devin Vandenboss has been cut.
Tan dives in and grabs Vandenboss's left leg, looking for a takedown. Vandenboss pushes down on Tan's head and hops out.
Oh Vandenboss is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Tan tries to clinch but Vandenboss is having none of it.
Vandenboss seems to have got his legs back now.
Vandenboss could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Tan has managed to clinch.
Vandenboss goes for a takedown attempt but Tan pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Vandenboss looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Tan not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Tan has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Vandenboss is proving hard to escape from.
Tan slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Vandenboss.
Tan uses his free foot to push down on Vandenboss's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Vandenboss.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Tan cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Tan is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Vandenboss has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Tan jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Vandenboss is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Vandenboss and Tan has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Tan looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Vandenboss with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Vandenboss shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Tan pinned against the cage. Tan gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Vandenboss has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Tan is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Vandenboss.

Vandenboss has hold of Tan's hands but Tan slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Tan is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Vandenboss is just riding it out for now. Tan eventually gives up the hold.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Vandenboss is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Tan wants to pass the guard but Vandenboss is defending well.

Tan fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Vandenboss sprawls well initially but Tan persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Vandenboss pushes Tan off but Tan dives into side control.
Tan passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Vandenboss!
Vandenboss is looking to improve his position but Tan isn't that keen on the idea.

Tan throwing strikes from the back - he gets a warning from the referee for striking the back of the head but all these shots are hurting Vandenboss!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Tan doesn't have the hooks in and Vandenboss manages to turn into his guard.

Tan is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Tan throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Big Zac Tan comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Tan has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Devin Vandenboss was interviewed post fight and said 'A loss is humbling. It makes you realize that nobody is invincible no matter how hard they train. But i'll keep training hard and even though I might not become invincible, I will become unbeatable! I will be back and I will Win!'.
