Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Clayton Daniels!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dreyvon Thomas!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, John Kavanagh and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Daniels closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Thomas did well to prevent Daniels getting side control.
Daniels trying to control from half guard but Thomas is working away.
Thomas is trying to get back to full guard.
Thomas blocking the ground and pound attempt from Daniels.
Daniels knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Thomas on the ground.
Daniels looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Thomas with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Thomas slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Thomas escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Daniels gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Daniels stays in close to Thomas's body and controls the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Daniels wants to control from the top but Thomas keeps moving.

Thomas escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Daniels gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Thomas is looking to improve his position.
Daniels wants to lay and pray for a moment but Thomas keeps working.

Daniels stands and throws Thomas's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Thomas takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Thomas on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Daniels wants to lay and pray for a moment but Thomas keeps working.
Daniels scores with punches from side control.
Daniels scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Thomas to see if he's OK.
Daniels works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Thomas manages to work his way to half guard, despite Daniels's best efforts.
Daniels wants to take a breather but Thomas is having none of it.

Daniels drops an elbow to the side of Thomas's head.
Thomas is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Daniels's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Daniels's back!

Daniels is covering up but some of the strikes from Thomas are getting through and doing damage.

Thomas is trying to stick to Daniels's back but Daniels is turning into Thomas. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Thomas's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Daniels.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Daniels slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Daniels is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Thomas has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Daniels is looking to defend but Thomas has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Daniels! Thomas pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Daniels taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Dreyvon Thomas!
Dreyvon Thomas was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
