PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Barnabas Ungar (ranked 4546 p4p, 5904 weight class) and Dude Rude (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ungar comes to the cage accompanied by Wolf Totem. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Dude Rude!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Micheangelo Fripello and Jeff Smith.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ungar lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

It looks like Dude Rude has been cut.

Rude gets tackled into the cage by Ungar. Ungar maintains the clinch.
Ungar lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Rude backwards.
Rude has had enough of the clinch but Ungar keeps him there for the moment.
Nice body punch from Ungar.
Rude is trying to force a seperation but Ungar has the dominant position.

Ungar is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Rude can't fight it off and eventually Ungar manages to take the fight to the floor. Rude looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ungar sitting in guard here, content to control.
Ungar has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

We've been hearing that Ungar has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Ungar not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rude keeping full guard, as Ungar tries to pass.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Ungar lands with a big left! Rude is wobbled badly! Ungar comes in with a flurry of punches and drops Rude to the floor. The ref jumps in to save him from unneccessary punishment.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Barnabas Ungar!
Barnabas Ungar decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
