PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jakub Dvorak (ranked 6383 p4p, 3023 weight class) and Mario Santos (ranked 469 p4p, 290 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Dvorak might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to On another level. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jakub Dvorak!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mario Santos!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Steve Smith and Yves DeLean.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dvorak drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Dvorak throws a leg kick that is checked
and Santos counters with a stiff right hand.
Santos cracks Dvorak with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Dvorak moves forwards but Santos connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Santos lands the left hand.
Dvorak looks to land a left hand but Santos moved out of range nicely.
Santos darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
No joy there for Santos, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Dvorak shoots in looking for a takedown. Santos tries to sprawl out of it but Dvorak keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Santos manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Dvorak looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Mario Santos is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Santos moves into range and connects with a jab.
Santos keeps the fight on the outside.
Santos looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Santos cracks Dvorak with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Santos scores with a decent looking hook.
Santos lands a nice looking body shot.
Dvorak shoots in but Santos avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Santos lands a nice shot that snaps Dvorak's head back.
Santos throws a body punch but Dvorak moves out of range.

Dvorak swings and misses with a hook to the body.

and Santos counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Santos lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Dvorak shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Santos counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jakub Dvorak. That's going to take a lot out of him.
