Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jackson Giles (ranked 3178 p4p, 4015 weight class) and Shadow Moon (ranked 186 p4p, 228 weight class). Jackson Giles has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jackson Giles!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Shadow Moon!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Johanna Lukiainen and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Moon will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Shadow Moon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Giles shoots in for a takedown but Moon shows good takedown defense.

Giles fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Giles closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Giles perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Giles really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Giles is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Moon knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Moon tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.

Giles has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Giles seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Moon for as long as he can get away with.

Giles stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Giles is trying hard to land a takedown here. Moon sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Giles feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Moon wants to get back to his feet but Giles is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

A looping hook to the body misses from Moon. Giles does a little dance to reset his feet.
Giles shoots for a double leg takedown but Moon sprawls well. He's pushed Giles's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

and Giles counters with a series of strikes. Moon will be more careful next time no doubt.
Giles goes for a double leg but Moon avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Moon continues to drive forward.
We've been informed that Moon has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Giles fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Giles walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Giles shoots in for a takedown but Moon shows good takedown defense.

Moon unleashes a big counter combination but Giles bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Moon tries a low kick but Giles avoids it.
Jackson Giles is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Moon lands a slapping body shot.
Moon misses with a low kick.
Giles tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Moon defends well and Giles ends up having to push Moon into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Moon has picked Giles up - he's going for a ride! Moon dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Giles is trying to maintain the position but Moon is very close to passing his half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Moon wants to work for an arm triangle but Giles is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Moon looking for a submission but Giles manages to get full guard, putting an end to that submission attempt.

Moon has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Giles to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Moon is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Giles pulls down on the head and he's put Moon to sleep! This one is all over!
