PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Sven Dunkan (ranked 4210 p4p, 6006 weight class) and Klahan Saetang (ranked 0 p4p, 268 weight class). Klahan Saetang is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Sven Dunkan !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Klahan Saetang!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, James Glass and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dunkan dives in for a single leg takedown but Saetang sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Saetang lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Saetang told us before the fight that he's been working on his elbows. An under utilised technique these days - let's see if it can sway the outcome of the fight.
Dunkan tries to score a body lock takedown but Saetang shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Dunkan is looking to break free of the clinch but Saetang has double underhooks.
Dunkan can't get the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sven Dunkan . That's going to take a lot out of him.
Dunkan has had enough of the clinch but Saetang keeps him there for the moment.
Saetang drops down looking for an ankle pick but Dunkan pulls his leg out and moves away.
Dunkan pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Saetang leaves Dunkan with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The fighters circling - Dunkan throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Dunkan shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Saetang defends it nicely.

The fight stays on the outside here - Dunkan looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
As Dunkan backs off Saetang throws a huge counter combo but Dunkan manages to avoid it all.
Dunkan looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Dunkan shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Dunkan thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Saetang is looking for a sweep. Dunkan is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Saetang is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

Dunkan prevents Saetang from standing back up.
Saetang is staying active underneath Dunkan , who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Saetang is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Dunkan jumps into side control!
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Saetang tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Dunkan wants to take a breather but Saetang manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Dunkan .

Saetang has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dunkan wants to control from the top but Saetang keeps moving.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Saetang has managed to clinch.

Dunkan successfully pulls guard.

Dunkan has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Saetang can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

That was a close round but I would say that Sven Dunkan will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Dunkan shoots in but Saetang avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Saetang throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Dunkan lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Dunkan tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Saetang manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Saetang takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Dunkan tries to clinch but Saetang moves out of range.

Saetang shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Dunkan sprawls well. Dunkan wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Saetang gets slowly back to his feet.

Saetang looks to land a body kick but Dunkan moved away.

Saetang tries to close the distance and clinch but Dunkan swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Saetang tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Dunkan swivels and escapes.
Saetang tries for a takedown but Dunkan sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
A head kick from Saetang lands but Dunkan takes it in his stride.
Saetang misses with the body kick
and Dunkan counters with a head kick. That will keep Saetang thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Saetang wants to clinch up but Dunkan keeps it at a distance.

That was a close second round but I would say that Sven Dunkan will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Dunkan 's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Saetang connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Dunkan scrambles back to his feet.

Saetang stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Saetang wants it to stay on the feet.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Dunkan will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Saetang closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Saetang lands in his opponent's guard.
Saetang is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Saetang gets to his feet. Dunkan looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Saetang uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Dunkan .

Dunkan fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Saetang to the ground. Dunkan is now in Saetang's guard.

Saetang has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Dunkan off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Dunkan fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Saetang sprawls well initially but Dunkan persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Nice takedown defense from Saetang. No joy for Dunkan on that attempt.

Saetang has Dunkan pressed against the cage, preventing Dunkan from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

enabling Saetang to counter with a crisp jab.
Saetang pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Dunkan fails with the takedown
and Saetang counters with a left and a right that stings Dunkan .

Saetang rushes Dunkan and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Dunkan is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Saetang to keep the fight standing.

Saetang shoots in for a takedown but Dunkan shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Dunkan appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Dunkan fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Dunkan tries to close the distance and clinch but Saetang swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Saetang tries to bum rush Dunkan with a series of wild strikes but Dunkan uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Klahan Saetang comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Dunkan has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
