Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ricky Dryupp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kid Koala (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dryupp closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Dryupp lands in his opponent's guard.

Dryupp thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Koala really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dryupp. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Dryupp controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Koala wants to get back to his feet but Dryupp is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Dryupp wants to pass the guard but Koala is keeping the position.
Dryupp slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Dryupp drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Koala manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Dryupp has Koala in his guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dryupp is trying to keep Koala in close.

Koala wants to stand but Dryupp has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Koala stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.

Dryupp takes the fight into the clinch.

Dryupp jumps into guard, dragging Koala to the mat.

Dryupp lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Koala!

Dryupp goes for an armbar but Koala turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Koala.

Dryupp working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Koala doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Koala manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Kid Koala seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Koala swings away with a leg kick that misses.

Dryupp clinches.
Koala wants to break free but Dryupp has control.
Dryupp tries to pull guard but Koala holds him up against the cage and eventually Dryupp drops back down to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Koala wants to get back to striking at distance but Dryupp won't allow it.

Koala breaks the clinch.
Koala misses with a kick to the body.
Koala looking to land some kicks to the body here.

Dryupp looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Koala is fending him off so far but Dryupp persists. Nope, Koala circles away and we're back to standing.
Koala throws a push kick but Dryupp slaps the foot to one side.
Koala throws a right hand that Dryupp ducks under and follows up with a left that Dryupp also avoids with ease.
Koala is breathing heavily.
Koala works over Dryupp's head and body with a nice combination.

Dryupp looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Dryupp wants to work for an arm triangle but Koala is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Dryupp tries to pass the half guard into mount. Koala knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Dryupp is looking for a kimura here.
Dryupp wants to free his trapped foot but Koala is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Koala is in trouble now - Dryupp has advanced to mount!
Dryupp trying to control but Koala is having none of it.
Koala has given up his back. Will we see Dryupp going for some submissions?

Koala staying busy and making it hard for Dryupp to control.

Koala defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Dryupp's arms.

Dryupp is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Dryupp is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Koala with him. Koala is trying to defend but Dryupp has an arm under the chin now! Koala grimaces and is forced to tap out!
