Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Liam Murphy!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Green shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Murphy trying to hold on to Green's head to control him but Green postures up.
Murphy is not content to let Green control the position.

Green is looking for a kimura but Murphy is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Green to get the leverage.

Green is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Green stands and throws Murphy's legs to the side, diving into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
You can see the frustration on Murphy's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Murphy can do anything to dispel that myth.

Murphy isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Green stacks Murphy on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Green!
