PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Joe Glover (ranked 5089 p4p, 4518 weight class) and Bokoz Viraz (ranked 539 p4p, 514 weight class). Glover kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Enter Sandman. Joe Glover could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Bokoz Viraz's chin.

The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, John Roberts and Eddie Farnsworth.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Viraz drives through and clinches with Glover against the cage.
Glover prevents the takedown attempt.
Glover wants to break the clinch but can't.
Glover is trying to push Viraz away but Viraz has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Glover lands a left hand that snaps the head of Viraz backwards.

Viraz pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Viraz closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Glover's guard.

Viraz gets to his feet - Glover follows without any prompting.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Viraz darts in and clinches Glover up against the cage.
Viraz tries to pull guard but Glover holds him up against the cage and eventually Viraz drops back down to his feet.

Viraz manages to break the clinch.

Viraz breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A lazy left from Glover finds it's target.
Viraz shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Viraz shoots in for a double leg but Glover sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Joe Glover has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bokoz Viraz.
Glover ducks under a wild hook from Viraz.

Viraz dives in and scores a takedown into Glover's guard.

Viraz gets to his feet. Glover looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Viraz takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Viraz gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Viraz is still on wobbly legs! Can Glover finish him?
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Viraz is defended easily by Glover.
Glover does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Viraz wants to counter with a clinch but Glover pushes him away.
Viraz looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Viraz seems to have recovered his senses.

Viraz darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Viraz looks winded!
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Viraz connects with a nice short shot to Glover's temple.
Viraz content to control rather than advance.
Glover is in trouble now - Viraz has advanced to mount!

Viraz jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Glover is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Glover and Viraz has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Viraz has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Glover throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Viraz sees it coming and avoids it easily.
We've been told by Glover's head coaches at Desert Fitness & Training (14 Elite Coaches) that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Glover throws a low kick, looking for Viraz's leg but Viraz calmly moves out of range.
Glover lands a jab to the head.
Viraz slips under a jab from Glover.
Viraz is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.

Viraz shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Glover manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Glover wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Viraz manages to pass to side control.

A close round but Bokoz Viraz will probably get the nod.

Glover lands a leg kick that knocks Viraz off balance momentarily.

Viraz gets a clinch.

Viraz has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Glover uses from the top position.

Glover is posturing up here but Viraz has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Glover tries to roll out but it's too tight and Glover has to tap! Slick submission there by Viraz!
