Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jackson Giles (ranked 5122 p4p, 4957 weight class) and Archie Majors (ranked 235 p4p, 230 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jackson Giles!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Archie Majors!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Tarja Halkonen and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Majors throws a head kick but Giles moves out of range.

Giles shoots in and gets a takedown into Majors's guard.
Giles is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Majors wants to stand up but Giles is controlling him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Giles is stalling in the full guard.
Majors is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Giles is controlling him.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Giles controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Majors looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.

Giles drives through with a takedown into guard.
Majors is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Giles dives into side control.

Giles staying calm.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Giles's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Giles really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Majors is trying to buck Giles off.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Giles taking a breather here.
Giles prevents Majors from escaping the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Giles controlling from side mount.
Majors is pushing Giles's head away, looking to escape. Giles manages to hold on to the position though.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
You can see the frustration on Majors's face as Giles controls the position.
Giles advances to mount.

Giles wants to finish this one by submission but Majors is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Giles.
Majors's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Giles seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Majors for as long as he can get away with.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Jackson Giles dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Giles looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Giles perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Giles has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Giles continues to stall.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Majors wants to stand back up but Giles manages to pass into side control.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Majors bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Majors tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Nice uppercut lands for Majors. That snapped Giles's head back.
Giles checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Giles doesn't manage to clinch there - Majors circles away.
Giles shoots in for a takedown but Majors shows good takedown defense.
Majors misses with a low kick.
Giles half committed to a counter leg kick.
Giles fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Giles feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Majors wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Giles manages to pass to side control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Majors is trying to stand.
Majors is looking to get back to is feet but Giles passes into side control.
Giles is staying tight to Majors's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Majors wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
A lull in the action here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Majors tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
Jackson Giles overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Giles tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Giles has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Majors is forced to tap!
