The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Percy O'Donnell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz fails to land the takedown.
Costa feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Costa stands up from Diaz's guard - Costa perhaps looking for a knockout.

Diaz takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Diaz tries to keep at a distance but Costa has taken the fight into the clinch.
Costa tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Diaz's elbow.

Diaz has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Costa is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Costa changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Diaz looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Diaz throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

Costa has hold of one of Diaz's legs. Diaz is fighting the takedown attempt but Costa gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Diaz manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
